After breakfast at hotel, drive to Pyin Oo Lwin ( May Myo) about 2 horus. Spend a day in the highlands, escaping Mandalay for the former British hill station town of Pyin Oo Lwin located 1200m above sea level. Along the way, watch the landscapes as you pass through rural villages and agrarian landscapes. Begin your visit of Pyin Oo Lwin at the local market, where fruits, vegetables and local snacks are sold. Continue through town to see landmarks from the British era such as the train station, Purcell Tower and beautiful colonial-style houses.
Then it’s on to Peik Chin Myaung Cave, a remarkable natural lime-stone cave filled with Buddha statues. You will likely be joined by local pilgrims who flock to this site, especially on religious holidays, to pay homage. Explore the cave’s lush natural surroundings, including a beautiful waterfall. Next up visit Maharanthtookanthar, a sacred pagoda on a hilltop where you will not only learn about Buddhism but also have the chance to enjoy remarkable views. You will visit to the next famous natural water fall known as B.E Waterfall in where the surrounding is very beautiful and some local stalls are displayed.
Your visit to Pyin Oo Lwin wraps up with a visit to Kandawgyi Garden, a sprawling park established in 1915 by the British. Explore the gardens on foot, seeing some of the more than 400 species of flora on display as well as mingling with the locals who come to the park to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. After your visit, return to the car for the drive back to Mandalay. Upon arrival, you will be dropped at your hotel.
