Mandalay- Local Flower Market – Lime Production Site – Typical River-side Village - Yadana Bamboo Farm- Nagayone Pagoda –Makhaya Old City – Kambat Village - Mandalay

In the morning, our tour representatives meet you at the hotel and drive to southeast of Mandalay city. We make a stop at the local flowers market near Latkaung village after 15minutes drive from Mandalay. See the lively morning view of flowers sellers and buyers. It is the biggest flower market where various and colorful flowers growers come to sell. Take time for photos of friendly locals, seasonal flowers like Aster, Eugenia, Cobra-saffron, Jasmine, Gladiolus and Chrysanthemum. Some betel shops are here to learn how Burmese people chew betel with red mouth. Then, continue driving and see the different cultivation landscape along the road. On the way, you visit to the slake lime production workplace to watch making it with traditional way. (ONE DOLLAR – ONE TOURIST: we will contribute 1$ on behalf of one tourist to the children of slake lime workers for education fund)

Then, drive to the embarkation point where your private boat awaits. The boat sail down along the strong current water as this river flows among the vast mountain ranges. In this upper part of the river, the scenery is very beautiful filling with mountains, banana plantation, Mango orchards and other cultivated fields. Then, continue sail down to the typical river-side village to see local’s ways of life, daily struggling life and friendly people to make nice interconnection. Walk inside the village to learn about local products, living style and tradition.

The boat stops at the Yadanar Bamboo & Sandalwood farm to walk inside the bamboo & sandalwood farm to learn about the Burmese bamboo plantation, sandal-wood trees and other vegetation field. The environment is green and beautiful. You have home host local lunch with authentic foods. After that, the boat sail downstream, visit to the to the Nagayone Pagoda located on the north of Dohtawaddy river. In there, visit to the seated Buddha Image in the shrine. You have opportunity to see dancing activities of the Nat offering ceremony by Nat believers which is daily held. It is one of most venerable belief for locals.

After that, the boat sail downstream to stroll around the Makhaya old city which is river-bank historical site, visit to the ancient & historic pagodas. Makhaya was founded by King Athinkhaya in 14th Centurary. Explore to the Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pagoda and Shwe Zi Gone Pagoda which was modeled from Shwe Zi Gone Pagoda in Bagan. Then, drive to the Kambat village on the other bank of the river. At the village, driver will wait for you and drive back to Mandalay. You arrive at the hotel in the late evening.
