Detailed Tour Itinerary

 

 


Day 1: Mandalay – Khamti, Naga Land (by flight 1 hour & 20 minutes boarding)

 

Day 2: Khamti – Lahe (by 4×4 Wheel D 4 to 5 hours) (56 miles)

 

Day 3: Lahe – Lagyan (by 4×4 Wheel D 3 hours driving) (20 miles)

 

Day 4: Lagyan – Sawlaw (by 4×4 Wheel D 2 hours driving) (30 miles)

 

Day 5: Salaw – Ponnyo – India Border – Santon (by 4×4 Wheel D 4 hours driving) (45 miles)

 

Day 6: Santon – Sappalawshaw – Kharngwe – Sapplawshaw (by 4×4 Wheel D 3 to 3:30 hours driving) (40 miles)

 

Day 7: Sappawlawshaw – Khamti (by 4×4 Wheel D 4 hours driving) (80 miles)

 

Day 8: Khamti – Mandalay (by flight by flight 1 hour & 20 minutes boarding)

 

 

 

 

 

1Day 1: Mandalay – Khamti, Naga Land (by flight)

Take domestic flight to Khamti from the Mandalay International Airport. After about 1 hour 20 minutes boarding the flight, you will arrive at Khamti Airport and transfer in to the small hotel for check-in. Khamti is located at the eastern bank of Chindwin river which is the second longest one in the country. After taking a rest at guest house, you will be introduced with Khamti’s town exploration with local transportation to see more prominent sites highlights included Naga Traditional Museum and Naga traditional field which is the most popular place for their New Year festival and dancing place. In the evening, you will stroll around the town and visit Nanthargone Naga village, Chinese temple. Dinner at local restaurant and one night stop in Khamti.

Day 2: Khamti – Lahe (by 4×4 Wheel D)


After breakfast at local tea shop, check out from guest house. Drive to Lahe by passing on the new bridge over the Chindwin river. Lahe is Naga Self Administrative Region which is surrounded by many Naga tribe’s villages. Visit to one Naga Village if time permits.

Day 3: Lahe – Lagyan (by 4×4 Wheel D)

 

Enjoy your simple breakfast at Local teashop. Then, proceed driving to Lagyan Naga Village. The route is very rough, bumpy and a bit dusty. You see some traditional Naga villages on the way to Lakyan, Makyan and Teikyan. Start trekking from junction to Lakyan. It approximately takes about 2 hours trekking. You will experience with typical Naga tribes’ lives, daily activities, tradition and living style. Their daily struggle is very simple and interesting but it is much different from other hill tribes at other region in Myanmar.

Day 4: Lagyan – Salaw (by 4×4 Wheel D)

 


Enjoy simple breakfast at village and walk back to junction. Afterwards take 4x4 again and head to Sawlaw Village. Take your time for your filming at the village. Visit to the Naga Pan house and Buddhist monastery to touch with remote Buddhist monks’ lives and living style. Dinner and overnight will be at Naga traditional house again. It will make you to feel authentic local atmosphere. The weather is very cool and foggy in the winter. The village is very peaceful and charming with nice residents.

Day 5: Salaw – Ponnyo – India Border – Santon (by 4×4 Wheel D)

 

Enjoy simple breakfast at local house. You see their morning life and having breakfast view. At most villages, families are living together with their two or three generation family members and siblings. This morning, we drive to very remote area and the border of India to experience and see mountain ranges and forest views. Today you will see step cultivation where local grow rice widely and crops cultivation system. Then, proceed to Santon Naga village where Yaung Kun Naga people live and reside. There you will notice very unique and astonishing forming Naga traditional houses. Some believe in Buddhism and some practice in Christianity. But they have unity and tranquility. This evening we overnight and experience at Naga Sawbwa’s (headman) house like locals.

Day 6: Santon – Sappalawshaw – Kharngwe – Sapplawshaw (by 4×4 Wheel D)

 

Enjoy breakfast at local house and touch with morning view in the village. Drive back to Sanpya junction, then proceed to Sappalawshaw village. We will make stop Lahe on the way for a while. You make soft trekking from Sappalawshaw to Khargwe. Along the route, you have a chance to take photos and movies with Naga tribes’ ways of lives and children. They are very friendly and smiling and talking with different languages for communication. Your Naga local guide will link you and all Naga tribes during the tour.

Day 7: Sappawlawshaw – Khamti (by 4×4 Wheel D)

After breakfast at local house, today we drive back to Khamti for long hours. Along the way, we make stop for taking photos of view and daily struggling of Naga tribes while they are walking. We stop at Sanpya village for short touching with Naga rural experience. Long driving on the off-road up and down is giving you taste of adventure traveling by four-wheel drive and break-taking scenic view of high-elevation mountain ranges, forests, dotted villages. While passing on the bridge over the Chindwin river, you see beauty of second biggest river flowing from the mountains. We stop for a while to shoot photos. Upon arrival at Khamti, drive to guest house for check-in to stay overnight.

Day 8: Khamti – Mandalay (by flight)

 

This morning, you enjoy with local tea and snacks for breakfast at tea house. You see the various walks of life and pheasants who are chatting with their language. Transfer to airport to take domestic flight to Mandalay. After one hour and twenty minutes boarding flight, you arrive at Mandalay International Airport. You say farewell to your guide.
